First Customer!
Yesterday the most exciting thing happened! A girl I went to high school with asked me if I can make her a cake that looks like the BBM hug. This came as a total shock to me. I took a culinary course over the summer but I didn't expect her to know about it. It was totally random! I guess she happened to see the pictures I put up of some of the things I made in class. Freaking out entirely, I consulted with my sisters and they told me to go for it. It looks like a simple design so I'm psyched to start. I told her it would be ready on Sunday so I got to get cracking. I'm going to make the fondant from scratch with Marshmallows which I have done before so that part should be pretty simple. I am making a Mocha Oatmeal cake and I'll probably imbibe the cake to keep it moist, then use a coffee icing for the crumb and top coat.
I'll post Pictures with the result which will, g-d willing be successful!
Cheers!

Just Let Me SLEEP!
Being that I am a victim of procrastination, by the time I actually make it to bed, I'm finally tired. At the exact moment that I close my eyes, the most brilliant ideas pop into my head, ruining any thoughts of peaceful slumber. This being a normal course of events as of lately, I decided to put these thoughts of frustration on paper. Here they are.
Wide awake exhausted
Makes perfect sense I've lost it
When lullabies will keep me up
And chirping birds lull me to sleep
Rushing water to drown my burning heart
My thoughts flood into racing cars
They rush off and I chase them
My peace is gone
It was never there
Toss my brain
Turn my mind
It won't leave me alone
Until it's all on paper
The perfect solution
Waiting... Waiting....
Have you ever heard the saying "If you need to get something done, ask a busy person."? Well I feel like the living example of the opposite of that saying.
Filling my days with nothingness on the computer is making me feel like a lump. Occasionally my sisters will grab my bored mop of hair and drag me out of the house. Let me tell you something. Being inside all day goes against every natural fiber of my being. So when I get out of the house I feel as though I've stepped into another world. As if the outdoors is a giant room outside of my house. Sometimes when I'm walking down the street I'll feel as though I'm on a treadmill of the world. I'm in the exact same spot but somehow the world is shifting under my feet. I know it sounds crazy but try it sometime. You'll see I'm not completely nuts.
So anyhow, as soon as I step out of the house I have this feeling that I want to stay out here for as long as I can. For as long as I can avoid going back inside where I know I won't want to leave again. Once I get up and start moving I'm afraid that if I slow down, I'll stop moving completely. So I call everyone I know and see if they'll save me from this fate. If they'll help me make the night longer. Doing nothing, having zero responsibilities sucks and I long for the busy days where I'd really appreciate this freedom that I have now. Problem is, I look around at the people around me and how they're treasuring all the moments of freedom and here I am.
Wallowing in it.
Dying to get out.
